DAVID PIVTORAK

David’s is the true story of the American dream. He and his family fled the former Soviet Union to escape the persecution they endured at the hands of the oppressive communist regime. As newly arrived immigrants, David’s parents worked hard to put food on the table. It was then, at an early age, that David learned the value of hard work and the meaning of sacrifice. It was also there, at the family dinner table, that David learned about the gross injustices of the Soviet system and the corruptible nature of large, powerful organizations. He was taught that the rule of law, applied evenly to all people by a jury of fellow individuals, is the great equalizer in any society. The law, as David discovered early on, is the one thing that puts us all on a level playing field with the proverbial Goliath.

With his background David believes it is his life’s work to represent the little guys against tyranny of all forms. He revels in taking on large insurance companies and other embedded special interests who have tried to gain unfair advantages in society at our expense. It is only by obtaining justice for people who have been injured physically, emotionally, or financially that we live up to our ideals.

David’s high-profile anti-discrimination work has been profiled by media outlets such as the Washington Times, Fox News, and USA Today.

David grew up in Brooklyn, New York and – to the surprise of everyone he meets – does not have an accent (except when he talks about “cawfee.”). He obtained his B.A. from New York University. Afterwards, he attended Brooklyn Law School, graduating cum laude, with honors. During law school, after successfully trying out to become a member of the prestigious Moot Court Honor Society, David knew that becoming a trial lawyer was his destiny. The rest, as they say, is history.

David has represented clients in federal and state courts, as well as arbitrations, throughout California. When he is not traversing the state in search of justice you can find him exploring California’s great outdoors: From the awe-inspiring, pine-filled mountains of the Trinity Alps to the wildlife habitats and duck ponds in Wister. He believes there is nothing more rejuvenating for the soul than spending time in nature with a few good friends and trusty dog by your side.

David is admitted to practice law in all California & New York state courts; the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Central Districts of California; and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
